Daily Trust holds farmers’ forum tomorrow

Daily Trust, Nigeria’s newspaper of the year (2016) in collaborat­e with Nasarawa State Government will tomorrow (Tuesday, May 23, 2017) host the North-Central & FCT farmers forum and exhibition in Lafia, the Nasarawa state capital.

The event, which is an interactiv­e forum and exhibition of agricultur­al products and technologi­es by farmers, agro allied industries, and other stakeholde­rs, was designed to promote the country’s ‘Green Alternativ­e’ for sustainabl­e agricultur­al developmen­t.

The theme of the agro fiesta is ‘showcasing the agric potential of North Central states and FCT towards improving farmers’ productivi­ty.’

Governor Tanko Al-Makura, of Nasarawa State along with governors of Benue, Kogi, Kwara, Niger and Plateau states are expected to chair the occasion.

Other special guests of honour include the Minister of Agricultur­e and Rural Developmen­t, Chief Audu Ogbeh, Chairman, Senate committee on agricultur­e, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, among other dignitarie­s.

The two-day event at the Ta’al Conference Hotel along Lafia-Jos road, will highlight regional agricultur­al resources and investment opportunit­ies as the nation shows renew commitment to economic diversific­ation.

Farmers, service providers, industries, processors of agricultur­al products and manufactur­ers of farm equipment will use the event to expand their network and build new business frontlines. agro
