Lamido to Badaru: Your intimidation won’t stop defeat

- From Aliyu M. Hamagam, Dutse

Aformer Governor of Jigawa State, Alhaji Sule Lamido, has said that no amount of intimidation from the incumbent Governor, Mohammadu Badaru Abubakar, will make the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) lose steam towards winning the forthcoming local government council elections in the state.

Lamido said this at the weekend when he went to Kiyawa Prison to sympathise with three former commissioners and three ex-LGA chairmen that served under him.

Lamido was recently detained in prison custody for three days after the state government accused him of making inciting statements at a PDP gathering.

The former commissioners and LGA chairmen were on Thursday remanded in prison custody after their arraignment before Dutse Chief Magistrate Court II.

They were charged for criminal conspiracy, criminal breach of trust by public servants, disobeying direction of the law with intent to cause injury to the public, theft and forgery when they held sway as public office holders.

“It is simply a ploy to intimidate, terrorise, malign and demean so that they can be broken in terms of their courage to tow the line of the APC before the coming election.

“No power on earth can avert what God ordained. Those who are there now, before them there were others who were there,” said Lamido.
