Recruitment: Immigration warns applicants against fraudsters

-

The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has warned prospective applicants seeking employment into the service not to pay any money to any person or group of persons.

The NIS Comptroller-General, Mr Muhammad Babandede, gave the warning in a statement signed by the service Spokesperson, Mr Sunday James, yesterday in Abuja.

It would be recalled that the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Nigeria Fire Service, NIS and Nigeria Prisons Service boards had announced approval for recruitment in advertorials on Monday.

The NIS boss, therefore, advised applicants interested in the recruitment to follow instructions as stated in the advertisements in the media and shun any monetary request from anybody.

He said “the public is hereby advised to strictly follow the instructions as specified in the advertisement.

“Applicants must shun every request for monetary inducement by any person or group of persons, either in person or through fake online accounts.’’

He reiterated the fact that he had no any facebook account or accounts and urged applicants to report any exploitation to - immigrationpro@ gmail.com.

He urged the public to visit the NIS official online account - www. immigration.gov.ng for further information and clarification. (NAN)
