Children’s Day: Cleric tasks parents on moral upbringing

A pastor with the Christ Apostolic Church, City of Family Peace, Kuje, has called on parents to be committed to the moral upbringing of their wards.

Pastor Victor Omagbemi gave the advice on the occasion of the church’s 1st Children’s Day Celebratio­n on Sunday in Kuje, FCT.

The resident pastor tasked parents to take full charge of their core parental responsibi­lities by inculcatin­g sound moral values in their wards in line with biblical teachings.

“Children are the heritage and rewards from the Lord. We are saddled with the responsibi­lity of bringing them up in the way they should go according to the teachings of the Holy Scripture,” he admonished.

Pastor Omagbemi, who lamented the reported cases of children molestatio­n called on government to create conducive environmen­t for children to be properly nurtured spirituall­y and academical­ly.

He further charged parents to wake up to their core parental responsibi­lities which include, provision of basic education and sound doctrine, provision of good food and sound health.

The pastor admonished children to obey and be submissive to their parents in fulfillmen­t of the commandmen­t of God, urging them to view any form of discipline from their parents as a symbol of love to polish their glorious future.

The major highlights of the event were Bible memorizati­on and quiz.
