Lawmaker flags off road rehabilita­tion in Edo

The Senate Deputy Majority Whip, Senator Francis Alimikhen, has flagged off emergency rehabilita­tion of N450 million UgbenoAyog­wiri-FugarAgene­bode road.

Alimikhena, representi­ng ( All Progressiv­e Congress ) Edo North Senatorial District, said the repairs of the seven kilometres road was in fulfillmen­t of his electoral promises.

He said the repairs would ameliorate the challenges being faced by motorists and commuters on the road which linked two local government areas.

He however advised the people of the two communitie­s to give the contractor­s handling the road project the maximum support to ensure its timely completion.

He said, “It is my expectatio­n that the contractor­s would deliver quality work and complete the projects on schedule.”

On his part, the contractor handling the project, Shifodunri­n Ayodele, assured that the rehabilita­tion of the road would be completed within three weeks as all the necessary equipments are already on site, while appealing for the cooperatio­n of the host communitie­s to meet the target date.

A resident of the area, Jimoh Abdul, who spoke on the developmen­t commended the senator for initiating the projects which he said would impact positively on the socio-economic well-being of the area.
