Osinbajo in C/River, assures state of FG’s attention
Acting President Yemi Osibanjo who visited Cross River State yesterday on the last leg of his tour of states in the Niger Delta region, has assured the people and government of the state that the Federal Government has not forgotten them.
He said when he paid homage to the Obong of Calabar, Edidem Ekpo Okon Abasi that the Federal Government was committed to anything that could improve the life of the people.
Osibanjo stressed on the need for peace and unity amongst the diverse ethnic nationalities of Nigeria, saying the President Muhamadu Buhari-led Federal Government would work always to ensure unity and greatness of the country.
“The convergence of different ethnic groups in all parts of the country illustrates greatness. Everyone in this country needs the support of one another irrespective of tribe, race culture and religion. Every part of Nigeria is crucial,” he said.
Responding, the Obong of Calabar expressed gratitude for the visit of the acting president, and called for the recognition of the traditional institution because they started governance.
The acting president held a town hall meeting with the people of the state at the sprawling Calabar International Conference Centre built by the Liyel Imoke government, which was one of the projects he inspected.
