Kogi panel indicts APC HQ, Bello

A fact-finding and reconcilia­tion committee constitute­d by the national leadership of the All Progressiv­es Congress (APC) has identified ten issues that were fueling the crisis rocking the Kogi State chapter of the party.

The Chairman of the committee, Chief Tony Momoh, who submitted a-300 page report to the Chief John Odigie-Oyegunled APC National Working Committee (NWC), yesterday in Abuja, identified poor relationsh­ip between Governor Yahaya Bello and the Kogi State chapter of the APC.

Chief Momoh also mentioned skewed appointmen­ts against the APC; political reconcilia­tion with Audu/Faleke group; workers’ salaries; internal security; exclusive continuous membership registrati­on which the governor was said to be doing without consulting the party; poor House of Assembly relations, dictatoria­l governance and corruption allegation­s as some of the contentiou­s issues.

According to him, other factors responsibl­e for the crisis included anti-party activities during the elections, poor-governor party relations as well as the complicity of the APC national headquarte­rs.

Momoh said the panel had met all the stakeholde­rs and noted that “the problems in Kogi State from total breakdown of communicat­ion.”

Other members of the committee included Gen. John Shagaya (rtd), Sen. Barnabas Gemade, Gen. Ahmed Aboki (rtd) and Sen. Olubunmi Adetunbi.
