Kogi panel indicts APC HQ, Bello
A fact-finding and reconciliation committee constituted by the national leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has identified ten issues that were fueling the crisis rocking the Kogi State chapter of the party.
The Chairman of the committee, Chief Tony Momoh, who submitted a-300 page report to the Chief John Odigie-Oyegunled APC National Working Committee (NWC), yesterday in Abuja, identified poor relationship between Governor Yahaya Bello and the Kogi State chapter of the APC.
Chief Momoh also mentioned skewed appointments against the APC; political reconciliation with Audu/Faleke group; workers’ salaries; internal security; exclusive continuous membership registration which the governor was said to be doing without consulting the party; poor House of Assembly relations, dictatorial governance and corruption allegations as some of the contentious issues.
According to him, other factors responsible for the crisis included anti-party activities during the elections, poor-governor party relations as well as the complicity of the APC national headquarters.
Momoh said the panel had met all the stakeholders and noted that “the problems in Kogi State from total breakdown of communication.”
Other members of the committee included Gen. John Shagaya (rtd), Sen. Barnabas Gemade, Gen. Ahmed Aboki (rtd) and Sen. Olubunmi Adetunbi.
