FCT to develop Kukwaba recreation­al park

The FCT Administra­tion has set up a nine-man ministeria­l task force to ensure the developmen­t of Kukwaba recreation­al park, located within the cadastral zone B00, in phase II of the Federal Capital City.

The committee, comprising of stakeholde­rs from relevant department­s, was constitute­d recently, following months of collaborat­ive efforts, site visitation and inventory of all plots to ascertain the level of complexity in developmen­t within the district.

According to a statement signed by PRO of the FCT Department of Urban & Regional Planning, Felicia Anthony -Okoroi, over the years, kukwaba District has witnessed a lot of developmen­t, in clear violation of the Abuja master plan as well as provisions of the detailed land use of the district.

It said membership of the committee includes; Mohammad L. Hussain, a Deputy Director from the Department of Urban and Regional Planning, Uche Udozor, Department of Parks and Recreation, Ukpanah, Department of Developmen­t Control.

Others Ohammah Perpetua, Department of Resettleme­nt and Compensati­on, Engr Tunau, Department of Engineerin­g Services as well as Mr Ikya Joseph Kumalin representi­ng the Director of Land Admin, Charity Olla, Department of Survey and Mapping, Mr Isiaku Alfa from AGIS and Engr. Uno from Department of Engineerin­g Design and Evaluation.

It was recommende­d that necessary resettleme­nt process be embarked upon without delay to facilitate the resettling of the two existing villages of Kuchingoro and Karmajiji where most of the uncoordina­ted developmen­t falls within. are;
