Firm introduces brand management for SMEs
Mr. Kelechi Nwosu, Managing Director, TBWA Concept, has called on SMEs to adopt the concept of brand development and marketing to achieve real and sustainable growth as is conventional with standard brands.
Speaking at an SME Breakfast meeting with the theme: ‘Growing SMEs Through Brands & Marketing’, in Lagos, last week, Nwosu submitted that it was time small and medium enterprise operators embraced the practice of conventional brand management as the only way to avoid business failures.
The breakfast meeting was organised and hosted by TBWA Concept as a measure of growth support among operators at that level of the market.
Nwosu said the choices before operators of SMEs was either to embrace conventional brand support as a way of growing their markets or be ready to face business collapse.
He advised that the SMEs should endeavour to carve a niche for themselves, build distinct brand personalities and attract consumer engagement as the new way to go.
Nwosu further noted that 96 per cent of businesses in Nigeria were SMEs, contributing 48 per cent of the country’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
Therefore, the big idea is to find ways of making SMEs engage growth-focused brand management practices and techniques that will support the innovativeness, creativity and industry.
