“We humbly wish to bring to your notice and attention the unpleasant, nefarious and inhuman activities of Dzake Lounge within this residential community who had before and apprehended him. Somebody in the crowd must have used a sharp object to stab him on the face,” he said.

They said an attempt to make peace with the management of the lounge failed as it claimed that it acquired a commercial plot and could operate without limitations.

The owner of the lounge, Emmanuel Otokpa, said the plot was legally acquired for commercial purposes and that he had right to it as the residents have in their houses.

He described the petition as the latest effort by the residents to pull down his business after several failed attempts including a complaint at the Kubwa Divisional Police Command and disconnection of electricity from the government transformer in the area.

He added that his business was a lounge and not a night club as such sounds were trapped within the building. “This is not a night club, it is a lounge and we sometimes close by 12:00a.m.”

“My lawyer is taking it up with them. They have to prove it in court. My business premises is commercial and I have approval for what I built.”

A 33-year-old man, Christian Nwokoro, charged with “unnatural offence’’ of attempted sodomy with three minors, has been remanded in prison by a Karmo Grade 1 Area Court, Abuja.

Nwokoro, a bricklayer, resides at Karmo village in the Federal Capital Territory.

Although the defendant denied committing the offence, the judge, Alhaji Abubakar Sadiq, refused to grant him bail.

Sadiq adjourned the case to July 11 for further hearing.

Earlier, the prosecutor, Mr Zannah Dalhatu, had told the court that one Orlando Peter, also of Karmo village, in company of his 12-yearold son, reported the matter at the Karmo Police Station on June 11.

Dalhatu said Peter complained that sometime in 2016, the defendant lured three male minors with amounts ranging from N50 to N200 to his apartment.

He said the defendant laid on the boys in an attempt to have carnal knowledge of them after rubbing a substance on his private part.

Dalhatu told the court that the offence contravened sections 265 and 247 of the Penal Code. (NAN)
