Hausa version of toolkit launched, to address development of girls
The Hausa version of a faith leaders’ toolkit aimed at addressing specific issues that negatively affect the social and economic development of girls in Northern Nigeria has been launched in Kaduna.
The tool kit, known as ‘Infanta yin zabi da bada damage ga yan mata masu matsakaitan shekaru kundin wiki ga shugabannin addini,’ is designed to ensure that faith leaders at the community level who are unable to use the English version would not be left out in the campaign for better lives for girls.
In the programme, the Project Collective Action for Adolescent Girls Initiative (CAAGI) is in collaboration with Christian Aid, Gender Awareness Trust (GAT) and Development and Peace Initiative (DPI) where 15 girls from Kujama and Rido Hausa communities who are also members of the safe space platform called Gender Empowerment and Development Organising Resources (GEADOR) are demanding improved opportunities for adolescent girls.
The Project Officer, CAAGI- GAT, Tida Leo called on the Kaduna State Government to provide children especially adolescent girls with improved choices and opportunities to live productive and meaningful lives.
