CSO seeks support for NABDA

The New Initiative for Credible Leadership has hailed the National Biotechnology Development Agency (NABDA) for its innovations in biotechnology and genetic engineering in the country.

Addressing newsmen on activities of research institutions in Abuja yesterday, Reverend Steven Onwu, Executive Secretary of the centre, said NABDA within the last two years has worked hard to put the nation at par with global realities through various innovations in the field of genetics and intellectual acumen.

The centre noted the present economic challenge in Nigeria was as a result of fall in oil prices, while calling on stakeholders to focus on other sectors, particularly agriculture which was the mainstream of the country’s gross national earnings before the advent crude oil.

Onwu noted that the Director General of NABDA, Professor Lucy Ogbadu has demonstrated capacity in moving the agency forward and called on government to support the agency.
