N13 billion disbursed to area councils in 2 years – FCTA
The acting secretary of the FCT Area Council Secretariat, Mr. Joshua Kaura, has said the sum of N13, 828, 010, 037.06 has been disbursed to the six area councils in two years.
He disclosed this yesterday while briefing newsmen in Abuja on the activities of the secretariat in the last two years.
Kaura stated that in collaboration with the Area council service secretariats, JAAC and the FCTA budget office, proposed training programmes for area councils’ budget officers on zero based budgeting template have been carried out.
He added that the report for the assessment of the 2014 community needs of the selected area councils which provides a guide for the 2015, 2016, and 2017 budget was also analysed.
The acting secretary said the ACSS has accessed and reported the bad condition of the Gwagalape road in Nyanya as well as complete database of the 217 primary health care facilities within the six area councils in the FCT.
