Eid el-Fitr: ACF urges Nigerians to pray for unity

The Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) has urged Nigerians to devote themselves to prayers for the unity of the country.

The forum in a Sallah message also wished President Muhammadu Buhari quick recovery and early return home.

ACF in a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Muhammad Ibrahim called on Nigerians to embrace peaceful dialogue, saying it is the most civilized means to address grievances, rather than engage in hate speeches, threats and intimidation.

”ACF also wants to use this opportunity to commend the Federal Government for its proactive approach that doused the tension created by the Biafra agitators and the subsequent quit notice issued by the Northern Youth groups,” the forum stated.

The forum said though consultations had been held with the various groups and leaders from the North and South East for the purpose of promoting unity and peaceful coexistence, the agitators had continued unabated and called on the Federal Government to be firm and assert its authority and ensure that the law took its full course against those who might consider themselves above the law.
