Adamu wants Plateau United’s scalp

- By David Ngobua

Nasarawa United petit striker, Hassan Adamu has tipped his side to come out victorious in tomorrow’s ‘north central derby’ against leaders Plateau United.

The first leg encounter between the two neighbouring clubs ended 0-0 in Lafia and the former Kano Pillars man wants Nasarawa United to take back their pound of flesh.

He told Daily Trust that Nasarawa United are going for outright victory over Plateau United but if that fails, they will surely settle for a point on the road.

Adamu said the match is going to be a tricky one for his side but they are highly motivated going into the week 26 tie in Jos.

“We are in high spirit right now and we are going to fight for the maximum points. I don’t need anybody to tell me that it will be tough but we are ready.

“Don’t forget that in the first round they came to Lafia and picked a draw so who says we won’t pay them back in their own coin?

“They know that we are not a push over and they will have to do something extra ordinary to stop us from realising our dream,” he said.

Adamu also said he will not mind going for personal glory if the opportunity comes his way.

“I am among the leading goal scorers in the league and I want to keep scoring. For now I have nine goals but I hope to increase my tally before the end of the season,” he said.
