Youth urged to start summer club businesses to boost education

- By Simon E. Sunday

@SimonEchewofun An Abuja based education and social entrepreneur, Rachael Ejoke has urged more youth to develop a passion and start summer club businesses targeting children and youth to boost education in Nigeria.

Rachael said she uses her inventions, Words Barn Card Game and Starryclassix.com to promote such educational and social initiatives and that she routinely organizes Children School Clubs and Summer Programmes for Kids and Teens within Abuja.

She said she recently partnered with the City Library in Abuja where she hosts Children Summer Programmes. Her work has o led to her being an Honoured Invitee to the Prestigious Digital Book World Conference in Manhattan, New York.

“Children Summer Club is a club organized to engage children and youth educational and social activities during the long summer holiday.

“Around the world, children who are left to play away their summer holiday time could easily experience a learning loss in comparison with those who were engaged in educational and social activities during the same holiday,” she explained.

She also noted that the business of hosting such programmes has great potential as many parents who are mostly busy will buy-in to keep their children engaged meaningfully during the holiday.

“It opens the gateway for youth to enjoy a source of income during this period, thus it fills a business need for them. Those who organize the Children Clubs charge a fee for enrolment in the Summer Club.

“It also presents an advantage for youth to spend their time positively as organizing these clubs contributes to positive educational and social impact in the society,” she noted.
