The Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria (FMBN) has said that out of its 1,027 housing units being constructed, 177 units have been completed for workers in the FCT to access through the Federal Integrated Housing Scheme (FISH).

Mr Ahmed Dangiwa, FMBN Managing Director, disclosed this when Mrs Winifred Oyo-Ita inspected the completed FMBNfunded estates in the FCT on Friday in Abuja.

Dangiwa also said that the remaining 850 housing units were at various stages of completion and could be offered by the end of the year for the Head of Service to takeup.

The houses inspected included 86 units of three-bedroom flats, semi-detached bungalows located in Kuje, FCT, 12 units of threebedroom fully detached bungalows located in Kuje, 48 units of twobedroom flats at Apo, and 31 two-bedroom, located at Wumba District. The Managing Director noted that FMBN would offer the houses to the Head of Service offtakers for mortgage to their staff housing scheme.

“We also have houses round the country. In 20 states of the federation, there are estates that are completed and ready for take-up.

“Federal civil servants who are outside the FCT can also access these houses depending on what they need.’’

While inspecting the estates, Oyo-Ita assured civil servants that allocation of the Federal Integrated Staff Housing (FISH) houses would soon take-off.

Oyo-Ita said her office would ensure transparency and accountability in utilising the N13 billion approved by the Federal Government for the programme.

In her remarks, Dr Hannatu Fika, the Executive Secretary, Federal Government Staff Housing Loans Board (FGSHLB), commended the quality of the houses.
