- From Eugene Agha, Lagos

In continuation of the clampdown on Badoo, the cult gang wreaking havoc in Lagos, a joint security taskforce yesterday raided four flashpoints in Ikorodu and arrested 133 suspected members.

The taskforce which comprised operatives of the Lagos State Police Command, the Rapid Response Squad (RRS), the Department of State Services (DSS),

Lagos State Neighborhood Safety Corps (LNSC), O’dua Peoples Congress (OPC), as well as Onyabo and local vigilantes, said the suspects were nabbed over their alleged involvement in cultism and the Badoo gang.

The taskforce set out to curb the increasing Badoo menace and other cultrelated activities.

The raid saw the taskforce comb black spots and flashpoints at Bayekun, Ikorodu main town, Igbogbo and Majidun, known to be hideouts for cultists and Badoo members.

The suspects were moved to the Oshodi headquarters of the Lagos State Taskforce for screening.

When contacted, the RRS Commander, ACP Tunji Disu, said, “After combing several criminal hideouts in Ikorodu and its suburbs, scores were nabbed. Arrests were based on intelligence and in conjunction with local vigilantes. The first step is to screen all suspects and that’s already being done. All those found wanting will be charged to court.”

Meanwhile, the taskforce had also in the same raid declared 20 other people wanted in connection with activities of cultism and kidnapping in Ikorodu.
