North-west Farmers Forum & Exhibition begins tomorrow

The Daily Trust North-west Farmers Forum and Exhibition holds tomorrow Tuesday and Wednesday (25th to 26th July, 2017) in Kano.

The 2-day event, which is organised in partnership with the Kano State Ministry of Agriculture, has the theme, ‘Showcasing the Agric Potentials of North-west States toward Improving Farmers’ Productivity.’

Meena Events Centre, venue of the event will play host to agro exhibitors from various parts of the country and stakeholders seeking network and sharing vital information in technology, marketing and production in the agricultural sector.

The Governor of Kano State, Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje who is the chief host, will declare the event open.

Governors of Kaduna, Jigawa, Katsina, Kebbi, Sokoto, and Zamfara states are Special Guests of Honour /co-hosts and will also showcase to core investors, the agro potentials in the northwestern states-the largest producers of rice, wheat in the country.

Chief Audu Ogbeh, the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development is the distinguished guest of honour.

The interactive Farmers Forum and exhibition is aimed at accelerating agricultural development in the north-west in line with Green Alternative agenda of President Muhammadu Buhari.

Participants expected at the occasion include members of the All Farmers Association of Nigeria, AFAN and Federation of Agricultural Commodities Association of Nigeria, FACAN, value chain actors, processors, agro allied small and medium scale industries and other key stakeholders in the north-west States.
