Church empowers widows in Abuja

A church, Givers Embassy (GIVE), has launched an initiative where widows would receive N20, 000 monthly to train their children.

Leader the Church, Pastor Edward Olutoke, at the inauguration of the Project “Father a Child Initiative” in Abuja said widows who want to benefit from the scheme must have at of least a child in school.

He said that the initiative would make widows resourceful citizens and also reduce crimes among the youths by assisting widows to train their children through donations.

“In addition, a new football club, Givers Shooter Football Club, was also inaugurated by the church with players drawn from youths that were taken off the street by the church,” he said.
