NBA in­au­gu­rates jus­tice re­form c’ttee

The Pres­i­dent of the Nige­rian Bar As­so­ci­a­tion (NBA), Mr. Abubakar Mah­moud (SAN) has ap­pointed lead­ing lawyer and Se­nior Ad­vo­cate of Nige­ria, Chief Arthur ObiOkafor, SAN as the Chair­man of the NBA Crim­i­nal Jus­tice and Law Re­form Com­mit­tee.

Also ap­pointed to the cru­cial com­mit­tee is the out­go­ing NBA Lagos Branch Pub­lic­ity Sec­re­tary, Mr. Emeka Nwa­dioke. The com­mit­tee has since been in­au­gu­rated by Mah­moud.

Oth­ers who made the list in­clude for­mer NBA Third Vice Pres­i­dent, Mr. Reuben James who will act as Al­ter­nate Chair­man; NBA Na­tional Trea­surer Aisha Mo­hammed, and se­nior lawyer, Mr. John Duru. Also ap­pointed mem­bers of the com­mit­tee are Al­fred Ak­injo Esq., Yakubu Or­lando Esq, Geral­dine Wey Esq, Tope Ogun­ride Esq, Joy Gban­igo Esq, Foluke Abani­wonda Esq, Gerty Nkechi Iloeg­bunam Esq, Damien Nosike Esq, E D Ukoh Esq, Oge Eyin­dah Esq, Nkoyo Amah Esq, Ge­orge For­tune Esq, An­tho­nia Eke Esq, Philom­ena Omoro­dion Esq and Sa­muel Etuk Esq.

“The com­mit­tee is man­dated to en­sure that law en­force­ment poli­cies and prac­tices em­ployed to in­ves­ti­gate, charge and pros­e­cute in­di­vid­u­als are ap­pro­pri­ate and ac­cu­rate; to or­ga­nize con­fer­ences, col­lo­quium, work­shops and roundtable that will en­sure an ef­fec­tive sys­tem by mak­ing pol­icy mak­ers eval­u­ate and pro­pose rec­om­men­da­tions for a bet­ter crim­i­nal jus­tice sys­tem in Nige­ria,” he said.
