…C/River chapter suspends 4 LG chairmen

The lingering intra-party squabbles and reported division in the Cross River State chapter of the APC came to a climax at the weekend with the suspension of four local government chairmen of the party.

The state Publicity Secretary of the party, Men’s Ikpeme, in a statement, conveyed the decision of the party after its 15th state EXCO meeting, where they invoked Article 21 of the APC Constitution, which prescribes punishment for anybody involved in anti-party activities.

Those suspended with immediate effect included Richard Agbor (Ikom LGA), Abam Eta ( Yakurr LGA), Amba Bitty (Etung LGA), Osowan Otu (Boki LGA) and Eugenia Takon, an ex-officio.

The state chapter of the party also accused one John Ntem of impersonating the state party chairman.
