Clerics caution politicians on Buhari

- From Bashir Liman, Jos

The Shareefs Council of Nigeria (SCN) has called on politicians to stop politicising the health status of President Muhammadu Buhari who is currently on medical vocation in London.

The council made the call in Jos yesterday through its National Chairman, Alhaji Sharif Abba Jari, during a special prayer for President Buhari and the country.

The special prayer session was held at the Jos Central Mosque.

Alhaji Jari, represented who by was Sharif Muntaka, said it was inhumane, callous and insensitive to derive pleasure in politicising someone’s health.

Speaking earlier, Sarkin Sharifai, Plateau State chapter, Sharif Muhammad Isma’il, noted that those politicising Buhari’s ill health were ignorant of human nature, as every human being could fall ill without their knowledge.

The group, therefore, called on Nigerians to continue praying for leaders to succeed rather than praying for their downfall and urged those who did not have voters card to immediately register.
