Mean­while, PAN said its in­abil­ity to de­liver all the ve­hi­cles, as agreed with the House, was not its fault but due to some is­sues with the orig­i­nal mem­o­ran­dum of un­der­stand­ing.

PAN's head of cor­po­rate com­mu­ni­ca­tions, Haroun Malami said the com­pany frowned at re­marks that it could not meet its client’s de­mands.

He said such state­ments were "Mis­lead­ing, in­ac­cu­rate, ma­li­cious, and it un­der­mine our ca­pac­ity as a key stake­holder and ac­tive player in the Nige­rian au­to­mo­tive in­dus­try.

"We are a pi­o­neer car as­sem­bly plant in Nige­ria with over four decades in ve­hi­cle as­sem­bly. Our SKD pro­duc­tion ca­pac­ity at the mo­ment is 30 ve­hi­cles per shift. We are the only as­sem­bly plant with a fully built CKD fa­cil­ity ready for de­ploy­ment when de­mand arises.
