Pil­grims air­lift com­mences Aug 17

The Ji­gawa State Mus­lim Wel­fare Pil­grimsý Board has an­nounced Au­gust 17 as date for the com­mence­ment of air­lift of the state pil­grims for this year’s hajj.

The Ex­ec­u­tive Sec­re­tary of the Board, Sani Al­has­san Muham­mad, told jour­nal­ists in Dutse yes­ter­day that 1,400 had al­ready been screened and now await­ing the air­lift.

He added that the state would spon­sor 85 of­fi­cials that made the med­i­cal team, preach­ers, me­dia and guides, adding that in all the state gov­ern­ment had spent N367 mil­lion ar­rang­ing the hajj ex­er­cise.

“The 17 of Au­gust has been slated for the com­mence­ment of air­lift. Max Air and Azma Air are the of­fi­cial car­ri­ers for the state,” he said.
