Nigerians urged to patronise locally made products

The Minister of Science and Technology, Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu, has called on Nigerians to patronise Made in Nigeria products that have met the required certificat­ions.

The Minister who made the call at a meeting with the Minister of State for Industry, Trade and Investment, Aisha Abubakar in Abuja yesterday, added that consuming Made in Nigeria goods will enable the local manufactur­ers embark on research that will improve on the quality of their products.

There have been calls by government officials on the need to increase patronage of locally manufactur­ed goods since the issuance of Executive Order E03 by Acting President Yemi Osinbajo on May 18th, 2017.

“We are committed to making sure that we put in our own contributi­ons to ensure that we convert the enormous and the abundance raw materials in the country into products that our people will require, that we don’t have to rely on the importatio­n of everything we need. We want our Naira to be strong and we want jobs for our people” the Minister stated yesterday.
