Why I donated N20m for Yobe Mosque — Sen Hassan

- By Ismail Mudashir

The vice chairman of the Senate committee on FCT, Senator Mohammed Hassan(PDP, Yobe), yesterday explained the rationale behind his donation of N20m for the reconstruction of the Potiskum Central Mosque.

Hassan, who on Saturday announced the donation for the mosque in Potiskum, said the donation was between him and God.

“The donation is between me and my God. I donated it for the reconstruction of the central Mosque in my hometown. You know it’s an ancient town. So, I felt I should contribute for the building of a befitting mosque. I donated the money from my pocket,” he said in a phone interview.

Hassan said the Federal government had provided for N400 million in this year’s budget for the multi million Naira hospital he built, donated to his constituency and named after late Governor of the State, Senator Mamman Ali.
