…Ugwuanyi adds three
Six months after taking over mantle of leadership, Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State has finally made public names of 18 commissioners that will serve under him. The list of the nominees, which included Yemi Olowolabi, the son of a former governor of The governor of Enugu State, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, yesterday sent names of three new commissioner nominees to the state house of assembly for screening and confirmation.
Those nominated by the governor included Mr Geoffrey Emeka Ede, Dr. Fountain Chukwuemeka Ekochin and Engr. Aloysius Sunday Ogbodo.
Also, Governor Ugwuanyi has sent the name of Mr Samuel Okechukwu Ngene to be cleared as member of the Enugu State Independent Electoral Commission (ENSIEC).
Leader of the House, Ikechukwu Ezeugwu, enjoined his colleagues to accept the governor’s letter for the confirmation of the nominees.
However, it was gathered that a former commissioner designate, Dr. Donatus Ani, who had been cleared by the House was not given any portfolio because his people of Enugu South Local Government Area were allegedly averse to his appointment, hence Ugwuanyi was forced to appoint a replacement.
