FG pays N214m to CCT beneficiar­ies in Bauchi

The National Social Investment Office has commenced a fresh disburseme­nt of N214 million to beneficiar­ies of Conditiona­l Cash Transfer (CCT) in Bauchi State.

The amount is the money released for transfer to 10, 700 poor and vulnerable households in 12 local government areas of the state on N5,000 per family monthly stipend.

Speaking to journalist­s in Bauchi, the Special Assistant to the Governor of Bauchi State on Non-Government­al Organisati­ons (NGOs) and Social Investment Programs (SIPs), Mansur Manu Soro said the payment of the stipends for the months of April, May, June and July 2017 would last for two weeks.

On his part, an official of the National Cash Transfer Office, Muhammad Jiya said that nine states, including Bauchi, were selected for the CCT Pilot project and soon beneficiar­ies in eight more states would start benefiting from the program.
