Ayade pays Imams N10m over prayers for him

Gov­er­nor Ben Ayade of Cross River State has re­deemed N10 mil­lion he pledged to the Coun­cil of Imams for pray­ing for his elec­toral vic­tory both at the polling booths in the 2015 elec­tion and at the Supreme Court in De­cem­ber 2016.

The Chair­man of the Coun­cil of Imams and Schol­ars in the state, Ma­jor Kabiru Ibrahim Sa’ad who spoke with jour­nal­ists in Cal­abar, said, “The gov­er­nor has now re­deemed the pledge he made to our coun­cil for the in­ten­sive prayers we all said which en­abled him to come out vic­to­ri­ous in the gu­ber­na­to­rial elec­tion of 2015 and at the Supreme Court, and we are very grate­ful to him.”

He said the Coun­cil of Imams and Schol­ars was founded in the state two years ago to unite the Mus­lim Ummah with­out bias to sect af­fil­i­a­tion, adding that the coun­cil would con­tinue to pray for Ayade and for Pres­i­dent Muham­madu Buhari.
