32-year-old man kills 1, injure 4 others

A 32-year-old man, Henry Igwe, has attacked six members of his

family with a machete in their residential home located at Aguogboriga in Abakaliki, the Ebonyi State capital, killing one and injuring four others.

Narrating the incident which occurred Wednesday, one of the victims, Ijeoma Igwe, told Daily Trust that Henry perpetuated the act in the morning when every member of the family was still in bed.

Ijeoma said Henry’s action came as shock to members of the family who suspected that he might have misread meanings to some of the matters the family discussed the previous night.

She said while one of the victims, Oliver Igwe died as result of severe machete

cuts, the injured who included the Personal Assistant to the Chief Judge of the state by name Tobias Igwe, were now at the Federal Teaching Hospital, Abakaliki for medical attention.

Our Correspondent gathered that the said Henry was going from one room to another cutting his victims with his machete before he was seized by neighbours who came to the rescue of the family.

Daily Trust gathered that Henry was living in the United State of America and was sending money to one of his brothers. He was said to have probably been disappointed when he came back and formed the opinion that his brother had misused the fund.
