NYCN seeks patronage for boots produced by youth

- BY Simon E. Sunday

@SimonEchewofun The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) has urged government to support Nigerian youth by patronising locally made security boots produced by them.

President of the NYCN, Mr Murtala Garba made the call during a courtesy call to the Minister of Youth and Sport Development.

Garba said they were in the minister’s office to showcase security boots locally produced by NYCN under its directorate of skills, employment and social security.

He said the council under his leadership took that challenge very seriously and has started yielding positive results, a statement from the council by Gambo Jagindi said.

He pleaded with the government to support the continue production of this boots by a way of patronage as government patronage of this product will further create more employment opportunities for the teeming youth and save the country from demand of foreign exchange.

In his response, the Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Barrister Solomon Dalung said what is being showcased by NYCN gladdened his heart and that the ministry will continue to support the council to succeed.

The minister also appealed to security agencies to patronize the locally made boots produced by NYCN to create employment opportunities for the youth.

With his knowledge as an exsecurity man, Dalung said the boots can compete with foreign made in quality and standard.
