I’m not fighting anybody — Banire

- From Abdullateef Aliyu, Lagos

The National Legal Adviser of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Muiz Banire, who was last week suspended by the executive committee of Mushin Local Government of Lagos State, has declared that he has no problem with any member or leader of the party.

The national executive of the party had voided the suspension, saying the local chapter of the party had no powers to suspend a national officer.

Speaking to journalists in Abuja, Banire said the issue of his suspension had been resolved with the clarification made by the national leadership.

He said as far as he was concerned, he had no grudge against anyone as he remained the national legal adviser of the party.

“There is no suspension; the issue has been dealt with since. The national executive has told them that it is a waste of time; my party is intact.

Banire stressed that his relationship with the party leadership in Lagos State was still very cordial, saying he had no problem with anybody.

Speaking on the chances of APC in 2019 against the backdrop of the resurgence of PDP, he said, “We have absolute chance. But the truth of the matter is that the party naturally would be challenged; there is no doubt about that. But we would triumph at the end of the day because we have done much as a party, we have impacted on the country positively.”
