Bird strike affects Med-View Airline flight in Ilorin
Bird strike Saturday night forced a MedView Airline to abort a Saudi Arabia-bound flight at the Ilorin International Airport.
The spokesperson of the airline Obuke Oyibotha said the B767 aircraft carrying 222 pilgrims was taxiing for takeoff when it was struck by a brood of birds, forcing the pilot to abort the flight.
The 222 pilgrims were deboarded without incident, and arrangements were being made to provide another aircraft to them yesterday.
The airline assured all pilgrims that the schedule for their airlift to the Holy Land would not be affected by the incident, especially as a team of engineers had been flown to Ilorin to get the aircraft back to service. airlift
