Customs intercepts over N8bn goods

The Oyo/Osun Command of the Nigeria Customs Service has intercepte­d goods worth N8.895billion across the two states of the command.

The area controller, UdoAka Emmanuel made the disclosure while giving a report on the activities of the command between January and June this year, saying the command had made 57 seizures of various items such as textile materials, rice, footwear, and vehicles.

He put the revenue collected from imports and exports during the period under review at N7.2 billion.

Ndo-Aka said smuggling was inimical to the nation, warning those in it to purge themselves or be ready for prosecutio­n.
