African arts expo to hold in Abuja

The African Arts and Craft expo is set to hold at Arts and Craft vil­lage in Abuja, Direc­tor Gen­eral of the Na­tional Coun­cil for Arts and Cul­ture, Oluse­gun Run­sewe has said.

Run­sewe stated this over the week­end dur­ing a press con­fer­ence, a state­ment by his of­fice said.

The expo with the theme “Our Cul­ture: The Un­tapped Trea­sure” is sched­uled to hold from Au­gust 27th to Septem­ber 17th, with 30 African coun­tries ex­pected to par­tic­i­pate.

Run­sewe said the coun­cil was mov­ing away from the tra­di­tion of cut and nail plank pavil­ion to spe­cial­ized and col­lapsi­ble tents for the event.

“We have dis­lodged mis­cre­ants from the vil­lage and have taken full own­er­ship and con­trol of it. We now have a po­lice post for se­cu­rity cover,” he said.
