COREN begins 26th Engineerin­g Assembly in Abuja today

The 26th Engineerin­g Assembly organised by the Council for the Regulation of Engineerin­g in Nigeria (COREN) begins in Abuja today.

COREN President, Engr Kashim Ali said at a press briefing, Friday, said the annual Engineerin­g Assembly was meant to update the knowledge of members of the engineerin­g family and share ideas on emerging issues in the practice of the engineerin­g profession.

Ali said the theme of this year’s Assembly which will commence with an opening ceremony on Monday 7th and end on Wednesday 9th August, 2017 is “Entreprene­urship and Manufactur­ing in Nigeria: Challenges and Opportunit­ies for a Better Future.”

“The Acting President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo is expected to be the Special Guest of Honour at the opening ceremony, while the Executive Governor of Nasarawa State, Umaru Tanko Al-Makura will be the Chairman of the Day while the Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola will be the Chief Host,” he said.
