- By Hussaini Garba Mohammed

The Nigerian Academy of Science (NAS) Media Awards is scheduled to hold on Thursday in Lagos.

The annual event has been a platform for outstanding science reporters who publish science or science-related stories (health, environment etc.) in the previous year.

The top prize consists of a plaque, a tablet computer and N200 ,000 each for print and broadcast categories. The runner-up in each category wins a tablet computer and N50, 000.

According to an invitation letter signed by Mobolaji Dasaolu, Administrative Officer (Communications), the Nigerian Academy of Science (NAS) Media Awards was established by the Nigerian Academy of Science in 2010 for outstanding science reporting. The yearly award, now in its 7th edition seeks to promote excellence in science and science-related journalism.
