D’Tigress stars arrive for 2017 Afrobasket preparation
D’Tigress players in Orlando and Florida have arrived for the next phase of their camping exercise in preparation for the 2017 Women Afrobasket competition in Mali.
The Sam Vincent tutored side touched down in Nigeria aboard a Delta Airline at the Murtala International Airport Lagos on Saturday.
The Technical crew before their departure from Orlando had to prune the list from the initial 15 earlier invited by the Technical committee of the Nigeria Basketball Federation to 7 before joining their counterpart at the Lagos camp.
General Manager and former international, Mfon Udoka led the strong delegation that includes national team regular, Ndidi Madu, Adaeze Alaeze and Aisha Mohammed.
2016 Olympics qualifiers revelation, Ezinne Kalu also made the final list from the Orlando camp alongside Cecelia Okoye and Ugo Nwaigwe.
Meanwhile, Mactabene Amachree (Player Development Manager) yesterday stormed Nigeria while the duo of WNBA stars, Joyce Ekworomadu, and Evelyn Akhator are expected at a later date
The team will train and play series of tune up matches with some of the top Nigerian basketball clubs at the Indoor Sports hall of the National Stadium, Lagos before their departure for Bamako, Mali on 16th of August for Bamako.
