D’Ti­gress stars ar­rive for 2017 Afrobas­ket prepa­ra­tion

D’Ti­gress play­ers in Or­lando and Florida have ar­rived for the next phase of their camp­ing ex­er­cise in prepa­ra­tion for the 2017 Women Afrobas­ket com­pe­ti­tion in Mali.

The Sam Vin­cent tu­tored side touched down in Nige­ria aboard a Delta Air­line at the Mur­tala In­ter­na­tional Air­port La­gos on Sat­ur­day.

The Tech­ni­cal crew be­fore their de­par­ture from Or­lando had to prune the list from the ini­tial 15 ear­lier in­vited by the Tech­ni­cal com­mit­tee of the Nige­ria Bas­ket­ball Fed­er­a­tion to 7 be­fore join­ing their coun­ter­part at the La­gos camp.

Gen­eral Man­ager and former in­ter­na­tional, Mfon Udoka led the strong del­e­ga­tion that in­cludes na­tional team reg­u­lar, Ndidi Madu, Adaeze Alaeze and Aisha Mo­hammed.

2016 Olympics qual­i­fiers rev­e­la­tion, Ezinne Kalu also made the fi­nal list from the Or­lando camp along­side Ce­celia Okoye and Ugo Nwaigwe.

Mean­while, Mactabene Amachree (Player Devel­op­ment Man­ager) yes­ter­day stormed Nige­ria while the duo of WNBA stars, Joyce Ek­woro­madu, and Eve­lyn Akha­tor are ex­pected at a later date

The team will train and play series of tune up matches with some of the top Nige­rian bas­ket­ball clubs at the In­door Sports hall of the Na­tional Sta­dium, La­gos be­fore their de­par­ture for Ba­mako, Mali on 16th of Au­gust for Ba­mako.
