Kaduna procures 256,182 chairs for public schools

The Kaduna State government has awarded contracts for the supply of 256,182 chairs to public schools across the state.

This was contained in a document obtained from the state Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, which said contracts for the supply of 186,182 chairs under the Education Emergency Interventi­on Programme had been awarded.

It said 167,982 of the chairs were for primary schools while 18,200 were for the secondary schools, and that another contract was awarded for the supply of additional 70,000 units of chairs, bringing the total to 256,182.

The Commission­er of Education, Professor Andrew Nok, said 90,000 chairs had so far been supplied to schools.

Speaking yesterday while taking delivery of 700 chairs at the Government Day Secondary School, Sabon Tasha, he assured of the state government’s commitment towards providing adequate infrastruc­ture to public schools.
