- By Mulikatu Mukaila

Natives of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja have written to Senate President Bukola Saraki on the recent selection process for federal director to fill 20 vacant permanent secretaries’ slots.

In the letter dated August 7, 2017 by FCT chairman, National Youths Council of Nigeria, Abubakar Sadiq Ahmed Abaji and chairman FCT Forum of Area Councils Youth Leaders, Ishaq Salihu Kaura, the natives urged Saraki to intervene in the process.

“With emphasis on the last exercise for the selection of Federal Permanent Secretaries, we plead with the Senate to prevail on the Office of the Head Civil Service of Federation, to consider the appointment of at least one federal permanent secretary from the natives of FCT, who sat for the examination to fill the vacant positions as declared.

“We make this plea in line with the constitutional principles of the Federal Character of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, justice and fair play,” the group said.
