IsDB announces $300,000 awards for science & technology
The Islamic Development Bank has announced the call for nominations to win various prizes in Science & Technology. Up to US $300, 000 would be won in different categories, a statement from the bank said.
The prizes are awarded each year during the Annual Meeting of the IsDB Board of Governors Meeting. The next Annual Meeting would take place in April 2018 in Tunisia.
The three categories are: Outstanding scientific or technological contribution to the socio-economic development of a Member Country, excellence in a given scientific discipline, and noted scientific research institution in a Least Developed Member Country.
Each Prize consists of a cash award of US$100,000 and a certificate.
“IsDB is committed to promoting Science & Technology in member countries. I urge the Scientists in IsDB member countries to take advantage of this opportunity to come up with pioneering research and innovation that will improve the lives of the citizens in IsDB member countries,” said Dr. Bandar Hajjar, IsDB President.
The objectives of the prizes are to acknowledge the achievements and contributions of science and technology institutions in IsDB member countries, and to encourage them to promote research, innovation and excellence.
The deadline for receiving applications is 30th November 2017G (12 Rabi-1 1439H). Application forms are available on IsDB website: www.isdb.org
