DPR, Lagos State to collaborate on oil, gas development
The Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) has indicated its willingness to collaborate with the Lagos State Government in their quest to develop a road map for oil and gas in the state.
The partnership assurance was given by Mr. Wole Akinyosoye, the agency’s Zonal Operations Controller, Lagos, during a courtesy visit to DPR by the Lagos State Commissioner for Energy and Mineral Resources, Mr. Olawale Oluwo.
Mr. Akinyosoye, who represented the Director of Petroleum Resources, Mr. Mordecai Danteni Baba Ladan, stated that DPR as a responsible corporate citizen was ready to work with the state government to realize its aspirations for the oil and gas industry. He promised the agency’s total cooperation and collaboration on all areas regarding the oil and gas sector with the state government.
The Commissioner for Energy and Mineral Resources, Mr. Oluwo on his part re-emphasized that the purpose of his visit was to seek areas of cooperation and to partner with DPR on all oil and gas matters as they affect the state, especially in the area of regulation for safety.
He stated that Lagos State government had identified various areas of the oil sector from upstream, midstream to downstream as areas of interest for investment.
The DPR promised to set up a committee in conjunction with the state to further examine areas of cooperation for the overall interest of the Nigerian economy.
