Re: ASUU, let’s get real
The above article by Jibrin Ibrahim was very much educative and I am particularly concern with the last comment “My ASUU comrades, the struggle is our life but this does not mean that we cannot get real. Did BJ not tell us in 1980 that there are two struggles, one for the University and another for a progressive Nigeria”.
Darkness is clearly noticeable on the political horizon of this country Nigeria and continuously the country is been run without any clear practical and actionable direction towards development of the country.
ASUU and other legitimate trade unions need to come together and fight for social Justice and Equity, so that all the segments and sectors of the country and economic system can be made to work for the common good. The Nigerian system has failed as characterized by lawlessness, secessionist call, ethnic and religious narrow-mindedness and many other evil machinations.
ASUU should mobilise the Nigerian masses to get good leaders with good reputations and determinations to fill the Nation with Justice and Equity. The Nigerian masses currently under bondage and political manipulations by the selfish political elites needs the Academics to expose the politicians majority of whose interest is the preservation and stabilization of the existing economic and social order which enables them to continuously accumulate private wealth at the detriment of the common and depriving the key sectors of the economy the needed funds for national development.
The Nigerian masses looks up to you for enlightenment, mobilization and support for them to enthrone a progressive government that can be accountable to the generality of the people.
There’s need for change of approach as presently some people perceived your actions as been selfish.
Do work for a progressive Nigeria so that most of the sectors will work and the country will develop and progress for the common good.
