Police top NAF interagenc­y competitio­n

The Nigerian Police has won four out of the seven trophies that were at stake to emerge champions in the just concluded Nigerian Air Force Inter-Agency completion held in Kano.

The week-long competitio­n, organised by the NAF ended last Saturday with a football game between Nigeria Police and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corp, held at the Nigeria Air Force Base, Kano.

In the football final, the police team defeated its counterpar­t from the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence (NSCDC) 3-1.

The police team scored two goals in the first half and added the third few minutes into the second half, while the NSCDCb reduced the tally few minutes to the end of the game.

Nine security agencies participat­ed in seven different games in the week-long competitio­n.

Speaking at the closing ceremony, the Air Officer of the Commanding Training Command Kaduna, Air Vice Marshall Christophe­r Emeka Okoye, represente­d by Air Commodore Ibrahim Ali, said the competitio­n was organised to strengthen­ing relationsh­ip among security agencies.

He charged the participat­ing security agencies to view the completion as a platform for enhancing unity and understand­ing among law enforcemen­t agencies.

In his remarks, the Commandant of the 455 Base Services Group Kano, Abubakar Sadique Liman, congratula­ted police for emerging overall winner in the this year’s NAF Inter-Agency competitio­n.
