Three people lost their lives, while 19 others sustained injuries in separate accidents that occurred along the Abuja- Lokoja road.

Abaji unit commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Assistant Corps Commander (ACC) Olasupo Esuruoso, who confirmed the accidents yesterday, said the first mishap which occurred last Thursday at GadaBiyu village, involved a Mercedes Benz truck with registration number XB 920 AWK and a Toyota bus with registration number LAD 907 XE.

He said the bus veered off its lane and crashed into a Mercedes truck, killing two persons and leaving eight others injured.

He added that one person also died and three others were injured in a second accident which occurred on the same day at Manderegi village, on the Abuja-Lokoja road.

He said it involved a Toyota Previa space bus with registration number APR 776 FW. He attributed the accident to speed limit violation and loss of control.

He said six people were also injured in another crash that involved a Golf Saloon car with registration number RA 10 EKY at Chikara village, on the same road, adding that the Golf car which was carrying six passengers had a tyre burst.

The commander, who attributed the separate accidents to speed limit violation and loss of control, said all the injured victims were taken to Abaji General Hospital for treatment, while the three dead persons were deposited at the same hospital’s morgue.
