Police nab two brothers over robbery, recover stolen car

The FCT police have arrested two brothers over armed robbery and recovered a stolen car from them.

A statement by the command’s spokesman, DSP Anjuguri Manza, said the Asokoro Divisional Police Officer, CSP Aisha Yusuf, briefed the Commission­er of Police, Musa Kimo, about the arrest on Monday.

He gave the names of the suspects as Solomon Manger, 26, and Isaac Manger, whom he said were siblings and hailed from Kwande Local Government of Benue State.

He said the two suspects, who specialise­d in car snatching from cab operators, were arrested last Thursday at about 9:20p.m. by police operatives at the Asokoro division by Mogadishu Barracks overhead bridge en route Kunduruma village.

The statement said the suspects were arrested after a report that they had snatched a black Honda Accord car.

The statement added that the suspects who operate between Wuse and Kurunduma village via Mogadishu Barracks bridge were nabbed while attempting to snatch another car from a cab operator whose service they engaged from Wuse Zone 2.

“It was following their arrest that the suspects confessed to have sold a Honda car they had snatched a day before the arrest for N40,000 to their buyer who is now on the run,” the statement said.

Manzah said the Honda Accord car with registrati­on number AW 11 YAB has been recovered and the owner has been contacted, saying the suspects would be transferre­d to the command’s criminal investigat­ion department for prosecutio­n
