The Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Baba Abubakar, has commissioned various projects at the Nigerian Air Force Tactical Air Command (TAC) in Makurdi, Benue State.

Abubakar at the ceremony assured officers and men of the command that their welfare would not be toyed with.

Represented by the Air Officer Commanding (AOC), TAC in Makurdi, Air Vice Marshal Mohammed Adamu Idris, expressed satisfaction with the quality of work done on the commissioned projects, saying it was part of the renewal infrastructural programme to reposition NAF for efficiency.

He said, “The projects included: the Airmen’s club which contained four rooms for accommodation, a kitchen, dining, bar hall and cool room; the second phase of Airmen/Airwomen transit quarters building which consisted of three blocks of fully furnished 30-units of one bedroom flats and the unveiling of their plaques.

“We are making sure our personnel live in a very comfortable and relaxed atmosphere in order to boost their morale, so that at the end of the day, they would be more effective in the discharge of the tasks that are assigned to them.” the Air Force boss said.

Earlier, the Commander, 151 BSG of NAF base in Makurdi, Air Commodore, Samuel Adeniyi Babalola, who applauded the Chief of Air Staff’s gesture, said the residential quarters would provide conducive accommodation for airmen who just graduated from the military training school.

Babalola advised the beneficiaries of the quarters to put the facilities into good use and work harder as a way of reciprocating what the NAF has been doing for its personnel’s wellbeing.
