Bauchi rep aspirant donates relief materials to ward
A young legal practitioner and philanthropist, Barrister Nazeef Babaji, has given out relief materials to affected persons in Faggo Ward in Shira Local Government Area of Bauchi State after heavy rainfall damaged houses and properties of residents.
The Federal House of representative hopeful, through his NGO, Nazeef Babaji Foundation, in a statement made available to journalists, visited the community to sympathise with them and ascertain the extent of damage.
Babaji, who had expressed his interest to represent his people of Shira/Giade Federal Constituency of Bauchi State in the Federal House of Representatives on the platform of New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), said it was a pathetic sight to behold as most of the people were left homeless as a result of the destruction occasioned by the downpour and flood.
He took cloths and wrappers to the affected residents as Muslims celebrated Eid elKabir to commemorate the Sallah festival.
He said he discovered that besides the low nature of most of the buildings erected, poor drainage system also caused the collapse.
The chairman of the foundation, who supported the community in kind, including the completion of a new mosque, called on other organisations and government agencies to assist them.
Addressing the community leaders and locals, he urged them to use this Eid el-Adha season to thank God for another opportunity of life as they continuously pray for peaceful co-existence amongst fellow brothers and sisters.
