Kpakor urges Eagles to confirm supremacy over Cameroon

- By David Ngobua

Former international Moses Kpakor has urged the Super Eagles to beat the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon again to confirm their supremacy over the reigning African champions.

On Friday the Super Eagles defeated Cameroon 4-0 in the first leg of their 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifying matches.

The return leg comes up today in Yaounde and Kpakor wants the Eagles to prove to everyone that the Uyo victory was not an accidental discharge.

According to the former BCC Lions Captain, only a few people gave the Eagles a chance over the Cameroonians so such people may still want to be convinced that the 4-0 drubbing of the Lions was not a fluke.

He therefore said the Eagles should remain focused and go for the maximum points in today’s match.

Kpakor also said another victory over Cameroon would seal Super Eagles ticket to Russia 2018.

“I want to urge the Super Eagles not to rest on their oars. As professionals, they do not need anybody to tell them that it is not yet over.

“They have to go for the three points so as to be sure of their ticket to Russia. If they win in Yaounde, it will be hard for them to be stopped again.

“They played well in the first leg in Uyo but there is no perfect team. Their handlers should look at the team again and see how to make it even better,” he said.

Kpakor therefore expressed confidence that if the Eagles maintain the tempo, they will surely record back to back victories over Cameroon.
